President

Classes: The agriculture class that I am currently enrolled in is Landscape and Design. I have taken Agricultural Earth Science, Agriculture Biology, and Floriculture.

 

FFA Involvement: I have been involved in FFA for Four years now. I served as the Chapter Secretary on the officer, attended conferences such as ALA/MFE, COLC, and State Convention. I have also competed in the sectional Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and have been actively participating in the FFA activities. I have also participated in a Parliamentary Procedure camp and the Sonoma County Fair's Junior Garden.

 

SAE's: I am going to be working with meat rabbits, which are shown at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.

 

 

Future Plans: I plan to attend UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, or UC Merced, or Sacramento State in the Fall of 2016. I want to double major in Communications and in either AG Business or Political Science. After obtaining my Bachelors’ Degree, I plan to attend law school and receive my license to practice law.

Vice President

Classes:  The agriculture class I am enrolled in for the 2015-16 school year is Floriculture.

 

FFA Involvement: I have been involved in FFA the past two years. I’ve been Sentinel for the chapter officer team, attended Opening and Closing Contests, Attended conferences such at GLC, ALA/MFE, and COLC, attend most of the FFA events, and was involved in the Floral team.

 

SAE’s: The SAE I am currently working on is Market Hogs and Junior Garden.

 

Future Plans:  I want to attend UC Davis or UC San Diego and major in Obstetrics and Gynaecology after high school.

Secretary

Classes: My class for the school year of 2015-16, Horticulture.  I have also taken earth science, Agriculture Biology and veterinarian science in the past years.

 

FFA Involvement: My FFA Involvements include State Conference, Opening and Closing Ceremony, Redwood Empire Canned Food Drive, volunteering at the annual  Farm Bureau Crab Feed, monthly FFA Meetings, and being a Sectional Delegate.

 

SAE: My projects include Junior Garden and raising rabbits for the Sonoma County Fair.

 

Future plans:  I plan to attend the Santa Rosa Junior College then later transfer to Chico State.

Reporter

Classes:  I have taken Agriculture Earth Science, Agriculture Biology, and Veterinary  Science. This year I will be taking Landscape Design.

 

FFA Involvement : I have participated in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies  since I was a Freshman. I have participated in The Crab Feed, Can Food Drive, Fresno State Conference, and  FFA meeting . I was also delegate for State Conference and North Coast Region Meeting.

 

SAE’S: My SAE is Horticulture Exhibits.

 

Future Plans: I am planning on going to Santa Rosa Junior college once I have graduated high school. Following I will transfer to Chico State where I plan to major in Animal Science.

Treasurer

Classes: For the year 2014-2015, I took AG Mechanics. For this year, I am taking AG Mechanics 2, AG Power Technology, and AG Biology.

 

FFA Involvement:  I did the Opening and Closing Ceremony, AG Mechanics Team, FFA week, and FFA meetings.

 

SAE’s: My SAE for 2014-2015 was a Wine Barrel Fountain.

 

Future Plans: After High School my plan is to go into The United States Army and the go to college.

Sentinel

Classes:  For the 2015-2016 school year, I am enrolled in Agriculture Biology.

 

FFA Involvement:  I attended the Chapter FFA Meetings, the Opening and Closing Ceremony Competition, and the Best Informed Greenhand Competition.

 

SAE’s:  The SAE that I am currently growing are pea plants in the school’s Greenhouse.

 

Future Plans:  My future plans are to take classes at the Santa Rosa Junior College as I am attending high school. After high school my goal is to attend Harvard University to get my degree in Law.

Duties of the President:
  • Develop Agendas and preside over meetings according to accepted rules of parliamentary procedure.
  • Appoint committees and serve on them as an ex-officio (non-voting) member.
  • Coordinate the activities of the chapter and evaluate the progress of each division of the Program of Activities.
  • Represent the chapter in public relations and official function.
Duties of the Vice President:
  • Assume all duties of the President if necessary.
  • Develop the Program of Activities and serve as an ex-officio (non-voting) member of the POA committees.
  • Coordinate all committee work, and chapter award applications.
  • Work closely with the president and advisor to assess progress toward meeting chapter goals.
  • Establish and maintain a chapter resource file.
Duties of the Secretary:
  • Prepare and post the agenda for each chapter meeting at least 2 days prior to all general meetings.
  • Prepare and present the minutes of each chapter meeting.
  • Place all committee reports in the designated area in the Official FFA Chapter Secretary’s Book.
  • Be responsible for chapter correspondence.
  • Have, on hand, for each meeting:
  • Official FFA Chapter Secretary’s Book including minutes of the previous meetings.
  • Copy of the Program of Activities including all standing and special committees.
  • Official FFA Manual and Student Handbook.
  • Copies of the chapter constitution and bylaws.
Duties of the Treasurer:
  • Assist the FFA Advisors in directing the development of the school year budget.
  • Receive, record, and deposit FFA funds and issue receipts.
  • Present monthly treasurer’s reports at chapter meetings.
  • Collect dues and special assessments.
  • Maintain a neat and accurate Official FFA Chapter Treasurer’s Book.
  • Prepare and submit the membership roster and dues to the National FFA Organization in cooperation with the Secretary.
  • Serve as chairperson of the earnings and savings committee.
Duties of the Reporter:
  • Plan public information programs with local radio, television, newspaper, and service clubs and make use of other opportunities to tell the FFA story.
  • Release news and information to local and regional news media.
  • Publish a monthly chapter newsletter.
  • Preside over the creation of the chapter scrapbook and/or its delegates.
  • Send local stories to area, district, and state reporters.
  • Send articles and photographs to FFA New Horizons and other publications.
  • Work with local media on radio and television appearances and FFA news.
  • Serve as the chapter photographer.
Duties of the Sentinel:
  • Assist the president in maintaining order.
  • Keep the meeting room, chapter equipment and supplies in proper condition.
  • Welcome guests and visitors.
  • Maintain member attendance and activity records.
  • Keep the Point Awards System up-to-date.
  • Keep the meeting room comfortable.
  • Take charge of candidates for degree ceremonies.
  • Assist with special features and refreshments.
